Previous 2026 Special Events:

February 5, 2026 – QPR Suicide Prevent and Mental Health in the Workplace Training. This event was held in collaboration with the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County and Kent State University.

Previous 2025 Special Events:

February 20, 2025 – Threat Evaluation & Reporting Overview (TERO) Training. This event was in collaboration with the Portage County EMA. Training was provided by Homeland Security and the Ohio School Safety Center.

Previous 2024 Special Events:

November 15, 2024 – Portage County Emergency Preparedness Symposium. This event was in collaboration with the Portage County EMA, LEPC, Health Dept and Fire Chief’s Association and was held at NEOMED in Rootstown, OH. Lithium-ion batteries, Chardon active shooter and cybersecurity will be the topics presented.
June 6, 2024 – How to Communicate Your Big Idea to Improve Safety. This event was open to other safety councils and took place in Ravenna, OH.
April 25, 2024 – Project Dawn NARCAN Training. This event was a collaboration with Project DAWN and the Portage County Health Dept.
January 30, 2024 – OSHA Recordkeeping Workshop. This event was a collaboration of 5 local safety councils in the region and took place in Fairlawn, OH.
