We’re excited to welcome Brenna Erjavec, Senior Manager of Safety & Security at Akron Zoo, for an engaging presentation on what it really takes to build a strong safety culture in an environment where every day brings unique challenges.

🐾 The Wild Side of Safety will explore practical strategies such as:

šŸ”¹ Two person lock and key systems
šŸ”¹ Spotters for high risk tasks
šŸ”¹ Leadership practices that make safety everyone’s priority

There are few tougher groups to keep safe than people! Brenna brings more than nine years of experience at the Akron Zoo, from Animal Keeper and Lead Animal Keeper for Hoofstock and Primates to her current role leading Health, Safety and Security.

Her unique blend of animal care experience and expertise in occupational health, safety and emergency management offers a fresh perspective that applies far beyond the zoo. šŸ¦’āž”ļøšŸ­

Dr. Aubree Jones is a native of Chautauqua County, New York. She graduated from Falconer Central school in 2008 and continued her studies at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH earning her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology in 2012.
