Since we were not able to host our Annual Safety Awards luncheon back in May due to COVID-19, we hosted an awards ceremony on Zoom on Thursday, July 16, 2020. In addition to the annual awards ceremony, we received an update from the Ohio BWC and the PCSC.

Since we were not able to host our Annual Safety Awards luncheon back in May due to COVID-19, we’ll be hosting a short, 30-minute awards ceremony via Zoom on Thursday, July 16, 2020, 11:30am-12:00pm. We’ll email out a link prior to the meeting.

GET YOUR AWARD MAILED TO YOU!
We’ll be mailing the awards via USPS. Please complete this 2020 Safety Awards Request Form to confirm your mailing information by July 16th. Members who do not complete this form will not receive their award. If your organization blocks Google Forms, simply email me your confirmed mailing info.

We’re very excited to announce that our special keynote speaker will be Coach Frank Hall!
On February 27, 2012, Coach Hall chased a gunman from the Chardon High School cafeteria just seconds after three students were mortally wounded and another three were injured from gunfire. Coach Hall chased the gunman from the school, putting his own life on the line to protect the school’s children and staff.
Frank has been the focus of the media, both locally and nationally, because of his show of courage. He was featured on the cover of a June 24, 2013 Sports Illustrated article entitled “A Coach’s Courage,” a story that chronicles Coach Hall’s life and what lead to the collision of his life’s path and the tragedy at Chardon High School on February 27, 2012.

Brad Hurtig was a student-athlete in a small town in Northwest Ohio. Only days after finishing his sophomore year of high school, a devastating workplace accident resulted in the amputation of both of Brad’s hands.
Through hard work and determination Brad soon rejoined his high school football team. In his senior year, Brad led his team defense, recording 111 tackles and receiving all-state honors all while playing with no hands. Brad’s inspirational story of triumph quickly captured national headlines.
Brad has been featured on ESPN, TEDx, CBS, NBC, Montel, and in The New York Times!
